A Story That Lasts
Over a Century

Historic stone building, Tivat harbour

THE Harbour,
AS IT WAS.

This building was constructed more than 100 years ago, during the Austro-Hungarian period, as part of Tivat's main harbour.

Built more than a century ago from brick, mortar, and the renowned Korčula stone
— materials highly valued throughout the Mediterranean during the Venetian and AustroHungarian eras — this building represents an important piece of Tivat’s architectural
heritage.
Originally composed of two historic houses, once among the oldest residences in Tivat and
closely connected to the early days of the Arsenal, the property belonged to some of the
town’s most prominent and affluent families. At a time when construction with stone, brick,
and plaster was considered a privilege reserved for the wealthy, these homes stood as
symbols of prosperity and refined taste.
Designed in the distinctive Austro-Hungarian architectural style, the building preserved its
authentic structure, solid craftsmanship, and timeless dignity for more than a hundred
years. Today, its historic walls continue to tell the story of Tivat’s past while hosting a new
chapter through contemporary Mediterranean hospitality.
